On Pangea day, Saturday May 10th, at the Ross School there will be an Amnesty International booth hosted by students; Jasper Creegan, Taylor Monte, and Laura Lemus. This booth will be a recontruction of a prisoner cell in order to represent the Prisoners of War (POW) that are being held at the moment. The information handed out will be to inform the public of the injustices that the POW are in. There will also be a digital petition, in order to give the public the opportunity to help the prisoners.
Each day more and more prisoners are being held for long periods of time, many times under cruel situations. The soldiers may be held captive only for suspicions, and are not given fair court trials. There are also conventions such as the Geneva Convention that protects against their human rights, which are not being followed.
We hope that many people are able to stop by, and do a little something to help the rest of the world!
